Our Team
Dr. Bruce Weiner
Bruce Weiner is a Cambridge native. In 1968 he enrolled and majored in zoology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and then entered
the University Of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine three years later. To help pay his way through veterinary school, he was hired by the Veterinary Library and taught microbiology to nursing students. Dr. Weiner received his medical degree in 1975, practicing at the Belmont Animal Hospital until shortly after he and his wife Myrna opened their Boston practice, Dr. Weiner's Pet Care Center, in 1978. A second location, Cambridge Veterinary Care, was opened in 1991. Dr. Weiner often attends national Veterinary conventions. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Dental Society and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to issue international health certificates. He and his wife Myrna have two sons, Harry and Ben, of whom they are very proud.
Myrna Robinson-Weiner
Myrna Robinson-Weiner is a native of Worcester, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Worcester State College and the practice manager here at Cambridge Veterinary Care. Throughout the year she attends meetings of various veterinary organizations. She is happily married to Dr. Bruce Weiner and they have two sons, Harry and Ben. In her spare time Myrna likes to curl up with a good book and her cats, Midnight and Bentley. If you would like to reach her, you can send her an email.
Dr. David Tubman
David Tubman is a native of Framingham, MA. Prior to becoming a veterinarian he studied molecular biology at the University of Michigan and then returned to Boston to work in research.
After a working in a lab he decided to return to school for his veterinary degree. He graduated from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Tubman also holds a masters degree in public health from Harvard University. Following completion of his veterinary degree he completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta, GA. From there Dr. Tubman practiced small animal emergency medicine in an emergency/referral hospital in Baltimore, MD. After his time in Baltimore, Dr.Tubman decided to move home where he lives with his dog Cooper and two cats, Mike and Sully. Dr.Tubman joined Cambridge Veterinary Care this fall.
Kim
Kim is a Boston native and has never been one to hide her affinity
for animals. Having owned a pet since childhood, Kim has had hands-on experience
with creatures of all shapes and sizes – from hamsters to horses.
She was a frequent guest at the Johnston and Johnston riding stables throughout
her early years. Soon thereafter, Kim attained a position at Dr. Weiner’s
Pet Care Center on Huntington Ave as a volunteer. He soon hired Kim as a
veterinary technician. Kim married her high school sweetheart and they’ve
settled down in West Roxbury with their two children. They own two dogs
and one cat, which Kim loves immensely. Despite her busy schedule, Kim often
attends the North American Veterinary Conferences that are held in Florida
every year and plans to continue her work in the veterinary field as long
as there are animals in need of treatment.
Nicole
Nicole has been a part of our team since 2000. Animals have always been a great love of hers and she has spent her entire life working with them, first as a groomer and then as a technician. A life-long resident of Medford, Nicole married her long time sweetie, Angelo. She and her husband recently welcomed their first little bundle of joy, adding to their already happy family including their wonderful, very spoiled dogs and their brand new puppy! What a busy girl! She loves spending time outdoors and with her family when she's not working.
Jennifer
Jennifer always had a dream to work with animals. She has rescued feral cats and volunteered at spay neuter clinics for feral cats. She started working at the Chelsea Animal Clinic and remained there for three years before joining our team in 2006. She is our staff's certified veterinary nutritional advocate and your best resource for your pet's nutritional needs. You can email her if you have a question or two. She has two fantastic rescued kitties at home: the lovely Miss Monkey and the lovelier, and fluffier Mr. Deluxe Montgomery. She enjoys photography, dinner and dance parties and of course continuing her education.
Vanessa
Vanessa started working with us in August, 2007 after leaving her job at The Revere-Winthrop Veterinary Clinic. She currently lives in Somerville with her 4 year old son, Erik, and her husband, Juan. Growing up, Vanessa always had dogs in her life. She recently adopted a beautiful, spunky little Shih-Tzu/Poodle mix named Bella. Vanessa spends most of her free time with her son but when he is sleeping she loves to dye her hair and buy expensive shoes.
Laureen
Our smiling receptionist Laureen joined our staff in September 2007. We don’t know how we ever got along without her! She is a native of Somerville but currently resides in Arlington with her two sons, Matthew and Michael. When she is not attending to the many needs of our clients, she can usually be found at a local hockey rink cheering on one of her son’s teams. Go Arlington! After she got her first pet ever, Fiona, she couldn't help but get another one. Now she has another cute kitty, Diesel, who was rescued from an auto body shop and couldn’t be more in love.
Cindy
Growing up, Cindy's dad always watched animal shows on television. We suspect that's how her love for animals started. Throughout her life she worked various jobs including retail and administrative but always had an interest in working with animals. She has worked with guard dogs, race horses, and at a few kennels. It was while working at a kennel located in a veterinarian's office that she decided she would take a new path in her career with animals. She then started training to be a veterinary technician. Cindy joined our team in April, 2009. She loves her work and makes time to continue her education even with 2 cats and 2 dogs at home.
Cait
Caitlin is a Biology major at Northeastern University, who joined our staff in June 2009 as a veterinary technician co-op. She has known since kindergarten that her goal was to become a Veterinarian. You may see her jotting notes in her pocket notebook with every new technique she learns from our staff or something she learns when assisting Dr. Weiner with a patient during appointments and surgeries. In her free time, she has volunteered in animal shelters and is currently a volunteer for the Franklin Park Zoo and an assistant medical technologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital Hematology Lab where she completed her first co-op. At home, she has two cats, her foster kitty and a husky. She will be staying with us part time when she returns to classes in the spring.
Silver the Cat
Silver used to live a luxurious life in our Huntington Avenue location but after many years she decided to pursue a more active lifestyle in Cambridge. She tries to get to the gym as often as she can but would rather join her kitty friend Jane in a game of double dutch or hopscotch. Jane has spoken about her world travels and the jealous Silver is planning a vacation to the Cayman Islands in the summer of 2011. When Silver’s not working up a sweat, she can most likely be found relaxing in the jacuzzi. She can’t be expected to give up all of her luxury!
Jane the Cat
Jane came to us in June of 2006. After traveling the world and visiting such exotic locations as Paris, Venice, Tokyo, and Jamaica she decided the only place for her was right here in her home town of Cambridge. She lounges around the office and loves all the attention from our visitors (except the dogs!). When she’s not being pampered by our clients and staff she can be found sleeping somewhere comfortable. Some of her hobbies include canasta, double dutch, painting landscapes, and knitting. She’s super friendly so be sure to give her some pats when you come in!
